Neapolitan Style Pizza Sauce
Ingredients:
Equipment: mixing bowl, immersion blender, rubber spatula, storage container
- 1 28 oz can San Marzano plum tomatoes
- 3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 each Garlic clove, course chopped.
- 1 tsp Sea salt
- Pinch chili flakes
Method:
- Pour the tomatoes into a large mixing bowl. Either with an immersion blender or with your hands, crush the tomatoes. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Place into a storage container with a tight-fitting lid. Place in the refrigerator until needed. Stores well for 5 days.
Chef's Tip: This is a very broad-based sauce. Add other seasonings as you would like.
This sauce freezes well also. Portion into individual pizza portion sizes in zip lock bags
