Neapolitan Style Pizza Sauce

 

Baked Clams with Sundried Tomatoes

Ingredients:

Equipment: mixing bowl, immersion blender, rubber spatula, storage container

  • 1 28 oz can San Marzano plum tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 each Garlic clove, course chopped.
  • 1 tsp Sea salt
  • Pinch chili flakes

Method:

  1. Pour the tomatoes into a large mixing bowl. Either with an immersion blender or with your hands, crush the tomatoes. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Place into a storage container with a tight-fitting lid. Place in the refrigerator until needed. Stores well for 5 days.

 

Chef's Tip: This is a very broad-based sauce. Add other seasonings as you would like.

This sauce freezes well also. Portion into individual pizza portion sizes in zip lock bags
